Arsene Wenger has hinted that Alex Iwobi could replace Mesut Ozil as Arsenal's No 10 in the future. Arsene Wenger has been impressed with Iwobi's contribution so far this season, having primarily been deployed on the left wing. The Nigerian has been favoured over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain by Wenger so far with Iwobi starting six Premier League games compared to the England international's three. But the Arsenal manager believes the 20-year-old's performance in their 2-0 win over Reading in the EFL Cup last night suggests his future may lie further infield. Ozil is currently impressing for Arsenal in the No 10 role behind makeshift striker Alexis Sanchez, but Wenger thinks Iwobi can play there too.
